The Little Train and a Painted Harpsichord

Josh and Stephen began the day by discovering our two balconies.  Lyn and I hadn't even noticed them! Over an extended breakfast, we decided on a joint expedition to Castle Hill on the little tourist train. This plan involved zero elevators and few stairs.

All involved considered it a great success. Then we visited the Villa Massena. The villa was spectacular but the art was all about Napoleon's I and III, Garibaldi and King Victor Emanuel. Not to everybody's taste. We walked home up the pedestrianised shopping street admiring some extraordinary apartment buildings as we went.

After lunch we braved the tram to find the Chagall gallery. On the way we passed the extensive local petanque courts. The gallery was missing a number of works that were off being exhibited elsewhere. It was a little underwhelming.  The first section was about his Biblical paintings. To get the idea, here is Adam and Eve being expelled from Eden. They don't seem over concerned, perhaps because they are riding a red rooster.
We were all wondering, 'Is that it?', when Josh found the auditorium with its stained glass. Apparently, some American gave Chagall a harpsichord, so he painted that too.

Back at the apartment, I made further use of the balcony.
