Saint Paul de Vence and Cat Moments

Today was an expedition to Saint Paul de Vence. We caught the tram to the train station only to discover that the SNCF ticket machines were besieged by bemused foreigners (like us). Eventually Josh went online using his phone and we caught the train before he accused any more Americans of breaking the machines. At Cagnes sur Mer, Lyn bought bus tickets to the village.

Saint Paul de Vence is stunningly pretty and full of art galleries, fashion, sculptures, restaurants and, today, a funeral.

We explored the graveyard and found Marc Chagall's grave.

We refuelled at the only snack bar in town and then walked to the nearby modern art gallery, Fondation Maeght. Unlike yesterday's galleries, this was a unanimous hit.

The exhibits were excellent. On the way in we found that a cat thought so too.

Their were amazing outdoor spaces and indoor galleries. There was even an extra Barbara Hepworth exhibition.

There was even another cat ... of sorts.

We rewarded ourselves with a peaceful drink.

A short walk down the hill brought us to a bus stop. From there it was a reverse of our outward journey. All in all, a lovely day was had by all.
