There was rain forecast today so we planned an indoor day. First up though, Lyn went to the cathedral for mass. I caught a funicular up the hill to what is left of Roman Lugdunum.
The theatres are still impressive and the stairs to the view from the top were exhausting.
Then the rain began, and I ran out of time, so I caught the funicular back to meet Lyn. It turned out I needn't have worried. Mass was of the full on variety and Lyn took some time to emerge.
We walked to the cinema museum. At the entrance the young man who greeted us asked us where we were from. Delighted with the answer he gave us his best "G'day". It was a 7/10. Props and costumes from numerous films were on display including the Harry Potter car, one of Edward's scissor hands and an Alien queen.
After lunch and a nap, we again braved the weather to explore the local art museum. There was a queue in the rain.
Inside we found stuff to like and stuff we'd seen lots of before and stuff we didn't like. All in all, a good visit.
On the way home we spotted one of the big street murals that Lyon is known for.
Tomorrow morning we leave Lyon. I think it is a fascinating city. Lyn feared it would be just another big city. For her it was a fascinating mix of modern and historic. The locals seem very proud of their heritage.
