Glencoe

In 1692 the McDonalds who had survived the massacre at Glencoe fled into the mountains where, unsurprisingly, they froze to death. This is wild country.

Our day began with breakfast at Tescos and a drive north with a brief stop to view Castle Stalker.

Next stop was Glencoe's National Trust Centre. Here we watched two fascinating short videos and Lyn found friends in the store.

Outside it was often wet and always literally freezing. The scenery was already amazing.

The reconstructed highland hut, the subject of one of the videos, was intriguing.

We drove further into the wilds, and Lyn was undaunted by the weather. She insisted we walk down towards the most photographed house in Scotland.

So I duly took photos.

As payback I made her get out of the car to see the Glencoe Waterfall.

Our final photo opportunity was the Three Sisters. They had it all over the Katoomba version.
We eventually arrived safely in Fort William very ready for a hot shower and dry pyjamas.
