Sunday Morning Drive - Kinsale to Bantry

We had another great breakfast courtesy of Aileen and Orla and Lyn met Lucy, their west highland terrier. Below is a photograph of the butter balls and the implements used to make them.

We had another beautiful, if chilly, morning so we took the scenic route through South Cork. We stopped to see the Timoleague Friary which was thoroughly Cromwelled in the 17th century and has been used as a graveyard by the locals ever since.

Next stop was the Drombeg Stone Circle. You might think that it was last used in the Bronze Age but it looked as if there were some local Druids making offerings. Any virgins in the vicinity should make themselves scarce next Winter solstice.

We grabbed lunch in Bantry where Lyn decided to salute St Brendan the Navigator, a man who surely never lusted after an upgrade to business class.
