Novotel Airport BKK

We arrived late to Bangkok and the captain announced that we were to hold at the end of the runway and there would be a delay. The Queen of Claustrophobia had a quiet meltdown. Eventually we escaped to the Airport Novotel to queue a very long time behind very frustrated people.  When it a was our turn we learned that, unlike many, we had a room. However,  accessible only by elevator and, egad! - single beds. Beggars can't be choosers at 4.00 am.
This morning we sorted it all out, explored the vicinity and discovered the pool and gym. As a stopover, Thailand has cheaper alcohol but the same disgusting humidity as Dubai and Singapore. The pool is wonderful and the air conditioning works so we are winding down at last.
