An Epiphany birthday

Leon made me a beautiful birthday card ...

... we climbed Palomides fortress. From there we could see Nafplio and across the Gulf of Argos. In the other direction – the fabled Argolid. It was the day of a religious festival – Epiphany – and from Palomides we saw crowds gather below. We had been woken that morning by church bells. The Nativity display was in the square.

After our exhausting climb we drove to Tiryns. It was a beautiful day but nobody else was there.

We picnicked in the middle of the megaron. Sunny – I sat and read while Leon stumbled around – found himself in a forbidden area and decided not to lose himself in a dark hole.

Homer called it 'great-walled Tiryns'

When I came back I found Lyn dozing like a lizard in the sun.
