The airport bus didn’t turn up at 5:45 and so we had to catch the 6:15 and when we landed in Venice the public boats, Alilaguna, had a huge queue and we ended up catching the Linea Rosa instead of the Linea Arancia, which takes longer but the wait was shorter, and, anyway, it took 3 and a half hours to get to our apartment from the airport but who gives a toss because here we are in La Serenissima drinking Chianti and eating arancini and tortellini.
We’ve wandered around and found it very familiar even after 3 years. There are still rose bandits and the orchestras still play in Piazza San Marco. Venice is a theme park for lovers.
