There was a spider, and Raoul Dufy's monumental tribute to electricity, and Matisse's dancers. There were some spectacular art deco pieces and Modigliani's painting of the lady with blue eyes.
Once outside we found the forecourt where in 2013 we saw skateboarders. Sure enough, today there were skateboarders there too - perhaps the descendants of those in 2013! There was also the Seine and that tower again.
I bought bus tickets and we caught the bus to Galeries Lafayette. Dubai might have some big shopping centres but for sheer class you can't beat this place. We explored the food halls. Here is a sample othe salts for sale - salts! The prices would suggest that it was distilled from unicorn sweat.
Lyn thought shopping was necessary too. We came away with baby clothes and a cardigan.
We also walked up to the roof terrace. This was the view of the Opera Garnier and Paris.
This is a close up of that glass dome from the outside.
After a cafe lunch we caught a bus to the Left Bank to see the Musee de Cluny which yesterday's taxi driver had said was recently renovated.
This museum of the Middle Ages occupies the remains of Roman baths and a monastery. This time around we got to see the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries we'd missed in 2013. The building itself is full of amazing exhibits but no photos except this one of part of the ceiling.
We caught another bus back to Rue Saint Didier for a well-deserved rest. It was a fascinating day.
